Case studies: Boinx

Client: PepsiCo - FritoLay

Our brief: to design and develop an innovative "Active Fun" toy premium that would appeal to both boys and girls aged 8-13 years.

We took the traditional Tazo, which is a plastic printed disc, and reinvented it. Boinx is a printed plastic disc with an over moulded TPR "Tyre". The bouncing Tazo was born! It behaves like a ball and bounces to a great height. The Boinx connect together to form a larger unit that bounces higher.

Boinx proved to be a big hit and over 300 million were made. They were given away in Doritos in many countries across Europe as well as Brazil and Mexico.
